About: Marybeth Haines

For over 20 years, grief consultant Marybeth Haines has gathered a wealth of knowledge and experience from her training in social services, crisis prevention intervention, and grief counseling. Her focus on enhancing the quality of life for her clients has always been at the forefront of her work . After obtaining her diplomas in Educational Resources and Special Needs and Applied Behavior Analysis, she began her career by providing support to people with physical and developmental disabilities. Soon she discovered the disabilities were indeed ‘abilities’ and her clients in turn taught her many things. It was a beautiful exchange of supporting one another. Throughout the years, Marybeth has worked with people and animals in a variety of settings. Marybeth’s specialized focus is providing support in pet bereavement and the senior pet. She holds the strong belief that pets can teach people many things about life and so can the grief associated with the loss of a pet. The pain of such a loss can be debilitating for many people. They can recover and Marybeth’s passion is helping them move beyond loss. Her work focuses on practical yet simple strategies for coping during this difficult time. She often refers to her favourite personal quote of “Pets come into our lives to bring us many gifts. It is when we open our eyes fully, that we can then truly see the magic that each gift brings.”
