More and more nursing homes and hospitals are opening the door in allowing animals to visit and have regular interactions with the residents and patients.  We hear stories of how animals have helped victims of PSTD (Post Traumatic Stress Disorder), and the calming effects they have on war veterans who wake up with night sweats.

I had the pleasure of interviewing Ernie Sloan, Editor of Dog Fancy Magazine. He has completed extensive research in the the human to animal bond and connection. In fact he spent over 2 years researching on this very topic. He provided me with a wealth of knowledge and sharing of information of the powerful gifts pets have in helping us.

**Keep your eyes out for a future posting where I will share my interview details with Ernie. It was an amazing experience!**

I invite you to take a few minutes and watch this video (5 minutes, 11 seconds in length). This is just one of the examples of how pets provide such gifts in health and healing.  ** It is certain to touch your heart **

Another short video can be viewed below showing first hand how pets bring laughter, happiness, assistance and care to many veteran’s lives. It actually brings tears to my eyes to see their unconditional love being provided without asking for anything in return. That in my books is a true friendship! (2 minutes in length)

Our connection to pets is growing stronger and stronger every day. They are such a blessing to us and love us unconditionally. It’s no wonder we become so attached to them. They are our friends, our companions and our family. And they are truly a reason to celebrate!
